It will be great someone design a hood you can close or open the vent depends on the weather

My concern would be that a vented hood would cost more in air resistance losses (due to the disturbed airflow) than you would gain in horsepower by a small decrease in intake temperatures.

Thanks for the link but the pictures there don't seem to work right now. There was a bit of controversy about painting and not painting. Does this CF hood have any kind of finish on it out of the box? King's site indicates $2600.00 for the hood. Was there any leeway in this price?

GTRPower, can't believe you dug that up.
'Viscreal2000' this guy ripped me off for $1,100.
I sold the Mugen ECU to him and he never came through with the payment. While he couldn't come up with my payment, he purchased the $2600 Mugen hood and posted the series of pics and comments. Couldn't believe the nerve of this guy when he did this.

Mugen hood comes thickly clear coated on the outside and unfinished inside. It is a sight to behold when you take a look at it first with the workmanship.
Anyway, I also have the Mugen hood but I painted to the specification which looks much better than the unpainted look.
Don't get me wrong, it still looks great with fantastic finishes that shows off all the carbon fiber but I thought it looked better painted and show the carbon fiber in the vented area.
I've went through some heavy rain with vented hood, and the water channel just do great job of keeping water getting into the bay.
And with Mugen intake, I just loved the way vented hood magnified the sound of engine going all out growling and screaming and also because of the fantastic heat dissipation my car really felt much more responsive.
Yes, I am just another happy Mugen customer.

I find it incredible this guy ripped you off and still has the balls to post on this board. He ought to be banned forever. Don't we have a way of sanctioning people who steal from us?

The rains in Florida are pretty heavy and I haven't had any problems with the J's hood besides the fact that my Spoon strut tower brace is dirty..
