Before I installed my Version 2, I was planning to install the spoon head gasket. I had asked TODA if this was possible and they had said it was not... but who knows... after talking to those guys about other technical things.... I really think their knowledge is very questionable.....
If the JDM head gasket is thicker than the spoon gasket then it might work.... I am just saying this based on the assumption that these version 2 cams with the exact specs are also sold in Japan.... So if they work there why shouldn't they work here????
Please dont quote me on that.
As far as my dyno... I have not had the chance yet... work has been crazy...

the spoon gasket is very thin... the JDM gasket is slightly thinner then the USDM gasket.. I can't see there being a problem, but I will have the clearences checked anyways... I may drop Toda a line before I do all the installation... I've still got a few weeks anyways.... Thanks for the heads up guys!

So you're getting head porting done, putting nice cams in, installing valve springs, and then you're going to use a substandard method of tuning. Sweet.

cjb80... thanks... The VAFC will have to do for the time being, since I've already got it installed in the car... I'm looking into the HKS Fcon V, but I need more research and more funds...

beroz, that is also a consideration... My crew is working through sponsorship negotiations with AEM ,so I may go with the EMS if it is signifigantly less then street price, or free....

update... I thought about it, and couldn't rationalize spending this much money and punking out on another 300... so I'm ordering the Gready e-manage...

just curious if anyone can clarify on the headgasket issue. If I'm not mistaken, the manual states 13 mm and the max lift to clear the pistons, but Toda states the ACTUAL lift of the V2 cams as 12.75mm although they advertise them at 13mm. Is the .25mm a safeguard??
