Default very low idle

The car usually idles at 750-1000 rpm's but i took the s2k out today and it was at 500 or less, i could not even hear the engine when i was at a stop light (and i have a single exhaust. i have an aem v2 intake, and ive had it for over a year, cleaned the filter a few months ago and it just started now(At first i though it might be bad flow in the intake. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? id like the car to idle right at 1000rpm's and adjusting the throttle body is the only thing i can think of, but i dont know if thats something i should adjust. let me know thanks.

edit: one last thing i cut out the front fender cover to allow more air to the filter, im thinking that since this is direct air into the filter it might dirty the filter much faster than if i covered it up....do you think i should cover the fender hole or leave it how it is? thanks.

try the map whack method. I had low idle problems as well and this seems to have helped so far. Theres a post in the FAQ at the top of the UTH forum

here's the link

I had same problem last summer. The Map sensor was changed. I think that the problem comes from the IAC (IDLE Air Control Valve). I used the ODB2 scan tool and I did not notice anything of special on the level of the sensor. To follow the next summer.

Check all your vacuum lines, especially the ones you may have had to mov aorund for your intake. Check them for cracks, movement etc...low idle is sometimes is an indication of loss of vacuum. I would also suggest checking your spark plugs. I know there is no reason for them to loosen...but.

put some fuel system cleaner and run it through then put in a fresh tank of gas from somewhere where there is lots of fuel traffic or lots of cars come to the gas station. preferbly try take it to a newly built gas station. you might have got a bad tank of gas.

can you elaborate? the only other thing i can think about doing is tightening the throttle body just because that would raise the rpm's. Im out of warranty so i wanna get this sorted out for free if i can before i spend for somone else to find then fix the problem. thanks
