Default stock FULL air intake filter

I saw that the K&N intake filter, AEM, Fujita, etc is made of a different material than the stock paper FULL filter.Any better?Any worse?

Filters less, more air flow, more power.

What are the disadvantages of the filter filtering less?

More crap gets into the engine, but its negligable. Ive ran them in all my cars for years and never had a problem. Never heard of any problems from a K&N filter or the likes.
