Default Vibration on accel

When accelerating I feel a relatively strong vibration, from maybe middle to rear of vehicle, at the same time this started my trans wont go into 5th gear. Its like there is something blocking it, it wont even grind with clutch in or out just wont go in. I know that the 5th gear thing is trans or shift linkages, but what is the vibration on accel? Trans, diff or drive shaft? It somewhat feels like the drive shaft is out of balance, is that common on s2's????? Help!! is this gonna cost me big bucks!!

What year car? How many miles? Any mods done to the car that might affect these things?

The frequent posters in here are good but they aren't that good.

Vibration.....Inner CV joints. Can be swapped side to side, no $ in parts.

5th gear...there's a tsb on non-engagement of 5th gear.

Its a 2001, i have no mods and about 8k miles ago i replaced the hubs and spindes for rear alignment issues. So i can just swap the axles from side to side and that will take care of the problem? and where can i get info on the tsb for 5th gear non engagment?

Not the axles, just the drive buckets....good info here:

Not sure where you'd find the TSB....It's here in s2ki somewhere

TSBs are in the Library forum...but your 5th gear issue may be more than just moisture in the shifter housing (tsb 02-046). Could well be a burred synchro sleeve:
