Default Vortech Black Box problem?

HELP!... have a 2003 and Vortech SC installed about 2 months ago, everything ran tight until now. Checked everything out but still had to flat bed her to speed shop...The next day she started right up 12 times in a row. The main focus is leaning towards the black box...has anyone else had this problem? Or any ideas to check out?

I had a black box problem too. It was running very rich after 7800 rpm. Vortech changed it, it runs perfectly fine now.
Matt.

Loose wiring connections on the CKP, TDC1, TDC2 lines can all cause a no start. I would have all the wiring connections to the stock harness checked before condemning the timing box.

I was not aware that any Vortech "black boxes" were "still" showing signs of problems. My kit was from the October of 2002 era and it was prior to this time that they were plagued with bad computer boxes. I've had mine on my daily driver since last March without any such problems. The connections to the ECU is very critical. They can come loose. They really needed to be soldered carefully and correctly. I elected to use male/female spade connectors and this has proven to be very reliable.
Unless your computer box suffered a MAJOR electrical surge at some time, I cannot see how it can suddenly go bad after running fine for 2 months. Look towards the wiring connections. This has already been cited as a cause of some malfunctions.

This is not fun... had to flatbed her again!!! So far it is 90% the Vortech black box, it has been removed and sent back to them. She is starting fine so far but the true test will be at least 8hrs in 30 or below weather and cranking her up in that cold. NO SPARK with freezing temps...

Vortech told me to send it back (After the Holidays) and they will reprogram the box because they set them up in 77 degree??? I will not be sure what computer it is until the temp drops here in Philly cuz it is in the high 30s low 40s right now.

I don't quite understand why the "set up" temp has anything to do with how it works in the car in the cold. My car (with Vortech) has started this winter so far at temps as cold as -18*C. It may have gotten even colder a couple of nights.

I am not sure why that makes a differance either but at least they are working with me on it... It could be my Honda box too but it leans towards Vortech for now.I would not rule out that maybe I got a defective black box either. I hope this gets figured out soon because "I WANT TO DRIVE AGAIN".
