What the hell!!! I was driving this afternoon during lunch, and all of a sudden i hear a clack sound, when I pulled over back at my office, i open the hood, and my Aftercooler had done a clean split in the middle of the pipe that connects to the throttle body.

Has this ever happened to anyone? or heard of it happening to anyone?? man this sucks .. am going to have to buy a new one now...

I guess I could upgrade to a front mounted one... i have the 5lb pulley, would I need to change this If i were to do a frount mount intercooler??

I hope your kit is still under warranty. I'd say that the cast elbow cracking is a pretty rare failure.

Are you using a Strut tower brace?

 

slows2k actually I bought the kit used from one of the board members, am not using a strut brace or anything that could hit it.... which is what makes it even more strange...

am calling vortech tomorrow, but not sure if they will honor it since I was not the original buyer and don't have a receipt...
