Default Vortech VS Comptech

If you guys look at both dynos, it shows that comptech slightly has a few less horses along the curve, not much, same power almost, comptech is not using a cooler, vortech is. I was expecting a little more performance from the vortech since its pushing about 7psi as opposed to comptech 6psi.

Why the same power?

Vortech used a Mustang dyno and comptech used a dynojet. Mustangs are more accurate as opposed to dynojet so comptech figures might actually be a lot less without cooler??.

This is just what i found out in a matter of 10 min as I am shopping around. Any info whether agreeing or not is appreciated

this was talked about in other thread, but to recap...

i had a CT SC installed a couple months ago. took it to a shop with a mustang dyno to tune it with my VAFC installed. following chart makes it easier to see differences since they are both done with mustang dyno. others will argue that the vortech one may not be entirely legit since no one has gotten one installed yet and done an independent dyno, i.e. not by the manufacturer, i figure that it will be close enough for comparison purposes.

For some reason.... If you take the same car and dyno it on a Mustang and then on a Dynojet, the car will show lower numbers on the Mustang. Dont know why, or which one is more accurate, but I suspect the Mustang is.

kam thanks for the info and dyno chart, very informative.

and also from what I know for whatever reason dynojets show their inaccuracy by giving higher readings than actual. I dont know why that is. But Mustangs is the way to go when dynoing.

It's price point my friend. The dynojet model 224 is the drum style in the floor and it's 35,000 new. Plus you have to buy your own computer and then to add the wideband O2 setup is another $2500. It's a pretty hefty startup cost. I know the Mustang is a lot more. Trust me I know
