Have you checked the VTEC seal? The part is only 20 bucks and fixed this problem for a friend of mine.

You should try redlining the car, if VTEC is not engaging the car will struggle to get up to that RPM...I'm not even sure if it will reach 9k when VTEC is not engaged. But if the car revs freely up to redline then VTEC is engaging.

 

Yea it struggles to get to 7, its like its out of power.

 

Let her drive your car and see if they are both equally fast.
If so, no problem.

 

Yeah right and let her break my Vtec. No you can tell, after i drove hers i got in mine and mine was like a lamborghini, it seemed like anyways.
