Default WATER INJECTION

I was wondering who uses water injection, what kind of horsepower increase or intake temperature change.

Have some patience. Unlike me not everyone lives and breathes S2ki.

As it happens fperra (IIRC) uses water injection. I'm also considering it. It doesn't "create" horsepower, it avoids detonation. That allows you to run more boost or leaner mixture and hence you get more horsepower.

I used water injection with my UR turbo kit. I ran 9 psi with no timing retard and never had a detonation problem. When I pulled the head the pistons were like new. The best HP I got at 9 psi was about 311 and 238 ft -lbs. The tuning of the emanage was not perfect and the top end HP rolled off too early. I'm currently building a new turbo motor (see my sig) and I will use water injection with it. On the new setup I'll be able to read intercooler inlet temp and intale manifold temp. which should give a good reading on the benefits of water injection. I'll keep you all posted, but it will be a few month before I'm finnished. In the mean time, if you want to learn about water injection, go to this forum: http://www.waterinjection.info/phpBB2/

methanol mixed with water is used during the winter in colder climates.

Yeah, pumps can't handle ice too well.
