Default weird noise in front suspesion?

2006 s2k.

I installed Tein S-tech springs on stock shocks using Tein's instructions 25K miles ago. Two weeks ago the car started making a strange noise, kind of a BANG BANG. It does it only sometimes; I can hear it when I go over bumps and sometimes when I am turning. I believe the noise comes from the driver's side.

Today I jacked up the car and retighten all the nuts. Everything looks perfect down there!

Could this be a symptom of my stock shocks giving up?

I did check the driver's side and it looked fine.

However, I noticed I was able to spin the top bolt when I tried to tighten it. I do not think it could me the cause of this noise because it does not seem to be loose.

You should not be able to spin the top bolt, this means it is loose. You have to hold the end of the bolt with a 5mm Allen, then turn the 14mm nut. Try it.

Found noise and fixed it!

It was the spring hitting the top strut mount. Very tough to detect, even visually.

Thanks for your help tinkfist!!!
