Default Welding Advice....

Just wondering if you can weld a steel plate to an aluminum plate? . I'm having issues with my hardtop latch and I'm wondering if I can get it welded in place if the screws continue to give me problems. Any opinions would be appreciated, thanks.

hmmm, I did a search on the web and I guess the consensus is that you shouldn't attempt it as the weld will be too brittle.

I might have to try to bolt it to an aluminum piece and then weld aluminum to aluminum after that. sorry for the post, I would delete if it I could , no need for further replies.
