so i am pretty sure that my water pump is the source of a new and annoying noise under the hood too the belt off and started the car and the noise stopped so its something running off the belt and then turned everything i could to feel for anything that was off and the water pump has a bit of a wobble to it and feels like it is rubbing against something during its rotation so i need to get a new one and they go from $60 to over $100 and i dont want to spend more than i need to but this noise has to stop. also it has started to squeal under acceleration below 3k rpms

so what water pump should i get or does it not really matter

Go OEM, you will be sorry if you go with an off brand.

There are many things I'd trust aftermarket replacements for, but for items that would grenade your engine upon failure I'd stick to OEM.

You can pick up a used one for a reasonable price in the Classified section. It likely won't last as long as a new one but I haven't heard of issues with OEM pumps.

I have 318,000 miles and my water pump is still original.

Definitely OEM. To see a bad OEM pump is very rare on the S2000.
