Default What size philip to use to remove "Map Sensor" ?

Hi guys,

Last summer, my car was chocking when i tried to accelerate from 0 MPH.
researched and realised i have the "whack map sensor" problem.

I wanted to clean whats under my map sensor today but i failed because i coulnt
remove the map sensor. I tried few of my screw drivers, it doesnt seem to have enough
torque.

What size philip should i use? My bolts are quite tight =/

Thank you.

Just try a quick hammer hit on the end of the philips screw driver before unscrewing. As long as it fits shouldn't be a problem. Might just be seized or something.

I used a large bit and a Li-Ion cordless driver. It had the torque to take the screws off with no effort at all.

i tried to use philips but it seems they might damage the bolt.
They look really fragile those screws , i even used a ratchet to give more torque but no luck. I guess i dont have the right philip head?? Or maybe , previous owner used different screws..

Would an impact driver work, or break something?

When i tried breaking them loose, if i applied downward force + twisting motion, it would just strip them and they wouldn't come loose.

When i just applied light pressure + twisting, they came right off... makes no sense.

I used needle nose vice grips and got a good hold on them to break them loose.
