Wish the wheel cribs weren't $96. + shipping for TWO.
They do seem overpriced, but it's a definite maybe

If you're putting the car on four jackstands, you should consider bleeding the brakes.

I spoke with my mechanic, a former student/neighbor/friend, yesterday. He thought 4 jack stands was the way to go.
Bleed the brakes? Why? (I am a novice)

Brake fluid should be changed every 2-3 years.

OK, I finished the job using jack stands and I am still alive! I guess I got scared after reading the story about the member that got crushed by his car.

At first, I was not comfortable being under the car, then after a while, i became conditioned.

My oil change technique was quite sloppy, spilling oil from the filter, then a couple of minor spills.
I will know better next time.

I saved about $60 with the oil change part, but now have the confidence to do all the other fluids.

thanks for the "support."

Good job bud! Just about anything on cars can be done with information, tools, but most importantly, confidence.

One tip is that once your ready to get under the car is to shake the car a bit when it's on the stands. That way you know if you hit it or what not it won't tip. And if it does fall at least your not under it at this point

I just thought....

Would it be OK if you jacked up the car one SIDE at a time to put it on jack stands? Left side up, jack stands in place, lower car onto stands. Right side up, jack stands in place, lower car onto stands....

Any safety (car or human) issues with this?

Where do you plan on jacking from?

The reason I do front then back is because I can jack it up from the center front and center rear jack points easily. If I were to try and do the sides, I'm not sure where I could place my floor jack on the side and still get two jack stands under on the same side.
