Default What's causing this oil leak?

It's my buddy's 01 s2k with 185,000 miles. We wiped it off a few days ago, and I checked it again it looks like this. Anyone had similar problem? It seems its either coming from oil filter or TCT gasket, or vtec solenoid gasket.

Your oil filter on top seems to be oily, so i doubt it's that, you check all your hoses?

My friend's vtec solenoid was leaking oil badly, the gasket had dried up a lot. Might be worth it to just check it out. Plus they're cheap and you'll get to see if anything is stuck in the tiny strainer thing.
Are you positive it's not previous spilled from when the oil filter was changed?

yea im positive because we wiped it off during the oil change. So your friend just replaced the VTEC solenoid gasket?

Yeah, but you should be able to tell if that's what its from just by examining it closely.

My Vtec solenoid started leaking from the oil pressure sensor a few months back. It was actually squirting out the electrical connector so I replaced it. Now its leaking where the top piece is bolted to the bottom (if that make sense). Probably should check there too. Oh yeah mine has 170k miles on it. Probably should just replace it.
