Default wheel spacers for s2000

wheel spacers for s2000
I currently have Mugen Mf10 17" wheels on my s2000. I have Spoon calipers and rotors on the way. The offset of my front wheels is +52, I was told I would need 15mm spacers to fit the calipers on the front. Seems kind of big to me seeing that i am not putting a big brake kit on my car. Has any one else attempted and/or made this swap? (mugen MF10 17" +52 offset wheels w/ Spoon 4pot calipers and spoon rotors) Would 5mm spacers be enough to fit brakes?

well consider the fact that spoon requires a 35mm offset in order to fit the calipers.

Keep in mind that changing the center line of the tire changes the SCRUB RADIUS of the suspension . This is what the suspension designers try to make zero so tire remains in contact with ground during total suspension travel .

You can get some washers at hardware store put under over wheel studs under wheel . See how many it takes to get caliper to clear , measure washers get spacer that matches dimension. You can get thick and thin washers that will make your measurement more accurate.

What size tires are you running in the front? Have you lowered your car as well? You may have issues with clearance once you start adding spacers to the front.

Brad, what about the rear? What happens when you add a 15mm spacer to the front, should you add one to the rear as well to keep things in balance?

I have seen many just add spacers to the front for auto X but what about road racing and canyon runs, is it safe to run just the front spacers?

keep in mind, anything more than a 5mm spacer requires longer lug bolts or the wheel will not hold.

The SCRUB RADIUS of the suspension effects only the front . There are many things that effect suspension . Changing what the car was designed for will effect handling and tire wear . Also the need for longer wheel studs is a requirement .

Many people have found that lowering the car requires other suspension modifications that just adjusting suspension, with the normal points will not correct.
