Default Wheels continue to turn while clutch depressed - probably fixed now

Edit: see page 4

Hi team

I've got an age-old problem but I've searched these forums and have explored some options already.

Brand new gearbox rebuilt (AP1), OEM exedy replacement clutch (approx 12,000kms), OEM release bearing (12,000kms confirmed), OEM clutch slave cylinder and confirmed non-leaky clutch master cylinder (but unknown how long/when they were replaced).

The tricky part is that the gearbox mounted to a K24, via an adapter plate and ClutchMasters K2F flywheel (B series flywheel bolts in case anyone was wondering).

Long story short, when the car is on and the clutch pedal is depressed (pushed in) but not in any gear, the rear wheels will continue to turn slowly as if its catching/dragging. It won't go into reverse either. It goes into every gear when the engine is off though.

Clutch rod freeplay behind pedal adjusted according to Billman's instructions. Pedal feels smooth and the car can be driven and doesn't feel odd. We only know there's an issue because it really struggles to get into reverse.

Any ideas?

I doubt there will ever be ZERO drag on the driveline.

I don't think this is abnormal.

The issue is that its near impossible to get into reverse while the car is on. It suggests there's a gear engaged constantly.

The second issue, at least in our look of the car, is that the drive line behaviour doesn't really change whether in gear or not. I suspect if I pulled the flywheel dust shield off to review the rotation of the clutch/fw assembly, with me clutching in/out, it won't stop spinning.

Have you tried a 4th to reverse shift see if it engages?

So, the car will easily engage reverse, with the engine off? You realize that the pressure plate and flywheel will always be rotating, with the engine on? You need to look into the pressure plate (somehow), to see if the disc is rotating or not.

Try over-adjusting the clutch rod to see at what point you get proper disengagement.

Only as a data point, if anything.

Might help with troubleshooting.

Correct in will go into reverse gear off. It's like somethings in the way when the car is on though.
I think you're right re looking at pressure plate...

Is the disc installed facing the correct way?
