got mine done last night

a few intake and exhaust valves were out of spec (i'm at 41K miles now)

It definitely idles smoother in conjunction with a new map sensor and air filter. It doesn't bog anymore whenever I release the throttle completely (slight hop), same with acceleration. The car definitely pulls a lot smoother.

Good idea to use a new valve cover gasket?

you won't need a new one unless your head is leaking

pete, you can reuse the gasket, but I would only do it once or twice without getting a new one. The kit is ~$17 at hardtopguy, so that's cheap enough.

idles smoother. pulls more consistently throughout the band. That's the butt dyno talking perhaps but I trust it.
Car is at 60K and never had valve adjusted. Currently, car idles smooth and runs pretty good. Should I still get adjusted?

If the idle is smooth and the valvetrain is quiet, no reason to go looking for trouble. You may have a couple out of spec, but the difference is pretty minor. If you're a DIYer, it's a free improvement, but I don't know if i'd pay someone to do it.

I'm about to adjust mine again, but it's because my idle isn't as smooth as it used to be, and the valves are getting a little noisy again.
