When to Adjust Valve?

I adjusted the valves on my 2003 at 47,000, i gauged all the gaps, everyone of them were a few thousands out of spec, can really tell a difference,

$150 for an hour worth of work!!! I think that is called RAPE LOL

When you say, valve is getting noisy, you mean at idle, you hear a ticking sound?
I' am a DIY person, after reading the DIY instruction, doesn't seem like hard at all.
Will probably do this summer.

When some of you quote say "out of spec" what exactly do you mean? Is it tight or loose from the nominal value (middle of range) or is it out of the specified range?

I do a valve check/adjustment once per year (~20-25k). For my MY00 that had 115k when I sold it the valve cover gasket was never replaced and it never leaked or had a problem.

I just did my MY03 with 27k when I bought it and found four valves tight from the nominal (center of spec) value. Tight means I could not get the feeler guage into the gap to allow measurement. These four were adjusted to the nominal value.
