You should replace the pinion nut too. Go to Honda and order the distance piece and pinion nut. Ask him to set the backlash a little on the wide side, .005 to .0055 set the pinion bearing load at 12" pounds, good luck

Okay - so its whining again.

Talking with the mechanic again and told him i'm fed up with this BS.

So, he has proposed he will buy all new again from motorklasse and redo everything; i checked their website and they don't sell it anymore?

Puddymod - sorry, but i'll need to borrow your expertise once more.

Is it worth buying a solid distance piece?

The likes of http://www.weirperformance.com/solid...pacerkits.html or the J's collar one? I'm assuming they then set backlash with the shim kit right?

I was told the oem distance piece will need to be replaced every time they try and set backlash so i'm assuming if its solid piece they don't need to do this?

Clearly i'm clueless when it comes to setting backlash with the gears and what not.

Some insight/advice would be appreciated...i'm at my wits end.
