Why does new transmission fluid help so much?

The fluid doesn't get dirty, it's the additive package that breaks down.

allegedly redline tranny fluid doesnt lose that new-tranny-fluid feel, i havent used it by my tuner friend put some in his integra and got rid of his 3rd gear grind instantly, 3 months in still hasnt come back.
I've used Redline MTL for years. Lasts a good long time (30k interval for me). I can feel it going away by then and know its about time to change it.

Keep in mind early model years like mine have notchy shifters and occassionally 2nd gear gring issues, but alot of this can be attributed to driving style and seat position. (psst try moving a notch closer).

Anyway Redline MTL works great for me.
