wierd sound under throttle!

thats what i thought it was on my integra, but it turned out to be input shaft bearing...so def check the throwout first but if it's still good my money's input shaft bearing......does the sound go away altogether if you depress the clutch? cause a throwout should be making noise at idle if it's going bad with the clutch not depressed

Well, i guess it was the diff since tonight it blew up on me. I was driving and it went from grrgrrgrrgrrgrr to booom grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. When i looked underneath there, there was diff fluid everywhere!!!

It would explain why you did not here the noise when you were off the gas. The gear is on it's cost side when your foot is out of the accelerator that is why you heard nothing.
I would not have guessed the rear because, you said the sound was coming from the transmission area of the car.
