So i started hearing this noise and it got louder and louder and louder! Its like a rumbling that comes from the transmission tunnel area. I have to have the car in gear and have at least a quarter of the throttle pushed or more. The more gas i give it, the louder it gets. If i am in neutral, weather the gas pedal is pushed or not, you dont hear the noise anymore. Any idea what it is? Thanks for the help in advance guys!

Diff going bad?

Do you launch your car? Are you FI? Have you changed anything recently? When was the last time you changed your fluids for tranny and diff?

 

Sounds like a clutch issue or the tail section of the transmission going bad.

 

I just replaced the clutch with an act 6 puck sprung and the facing on my Fidanza flywheel. New oem pilot and trowout bearing.

 

sounds like clutch being installed wrong.

the clutch should sound loud when it neutral, not when you're in gear. this goes with the twin clutch too.

rumbling... i wonder what that sounds like.

 

I dont see how i would of installed it wrong. i have done it before. let me see if i can get a clip of the sound.

 

is it like 'wokawokawoka' really fast? haha sorri dont know how else to xplain. mine has a noise similar to yours, when im about halfway throttle. i asked for guidance n noone helped. but anywho, i think it may be the diff/driveshaft

I was thinking it was the propeller shaft, but dont know if it would act only on load or not.

 

i would definitely check the u joints on your driveshaft. that's the only thing i can think of that would make that kind of noise when you're driving. also, does it get louder when you turn one way or the other?
