Default Wiring Harness Help

the wiring harness on the firewall near the battery of my car is damaged. i discovered a small section of the insulation is gone and a few of the wires were severed. the damaged section is about 1cm long. does the entire engine harness need to be replaced?

You need to replace the right side engine bay harness. It is a PIA but not as bad as doing the dash harnesses.

just repair it with solder and shrink wrap.

If you dont solder the wires, I promise you the connections will fail. the corrosion from a bad connection will also travel its way through the harness.

Very fixable if done right.

Make sure you use water proof / marine grade shrink wrap too. It has a gel layer inside that melts into all the voids and solidifies once it changes state.
