xviper: do you think I should check my fuel pressure beforehand just to doublecheck the source, or just go for the sock?

I rigged up a zip tie to hold mine tightly. Try this and if it solves your problem, you can then decide if you want to go through the hassle of getting at the fuel sock.
I'll put on the zip tie tonight and get on it on the way to work tomorrow to test it out. We'll see how things work out after this.
Thanks for your help xviper, you should have a paypal in your sig where people can send money after you help them fix their car because you're always helping everyone.

The zip tie didn't work, I zipped tied it first than saw your post went out checked everything squezzed some dielectric grease in there but still have the same problem. The connector was very snug to begin with and even with the zip tie I couldn't get it to go on any tighter than it was allready.
If I do the fuel sock is there anyway to clean out all of the crud in the tank?
Also I noticed that the little cap on the gas filler was missing like so many others. I doubt it would cause this but who knows. I might be the first to experience a fuel related problem due to it.
That beer'll be right over.

If the ziptie thing didn't work, then it's back to square one. It's quite odd that whatever you did once, made it work.
Can you get that MAP sensor back and try again? It may still go back to that thread I linked by "Ultimate Lurker".
Getting any crud out of the fuel tank is going to be a PITA and dangerous. You can use a large diameter syphon hose and once it's running, you can suck out any debris that's settled in the bottom of the tank. It's dark in there, so don't light a match so you can see .....................
You shouldn't have to draw too much out if you "vacuum" it right. Have a look first before you try this. You may find it's not that cruddy.
If you're talking about the typical little metal flap that's just a couple of inches into the filler neck, I don't think any S2000 has it. At least, I've never had one even from the first week. It won't affect the way the car runs. Those cars that have it, is just to keep larger objects from falling in. That flap won't keep dirt and grime from falling in as stuff like that goes in when the nozzle is shoved down the hole.
Just curious, have you been doing a routine regimen of injector cleaning through the years? That's another possibility. Your injectors may be suffering from neglect over the years and simply can no longer keep up with fuel demands at high rpm. This is remote as you've already demonstrated that you can get to redline with the use of a different MAP sensor. This is also why I don't think it's fuel sock or pressure related.

After driving quite a bit today I found that if I let the car sit for 30 minutes and then come back out and vtec soon afterwards it will rev the whole way up to redline with no problems. But if I even drive for 2 minutes I get the same symptoms as before. Which corroborates that the crud in the tank gets mixed up and then hinders the performance.
That metal flap was on my car up to 90k miles for sure but I just noticed that it wasn't there. I was being more sarcastic with blaming my problem on that and would never really expect it.
I was around half a tank when I started to notice this problem and now I'm down to 2 bars. So soon I will be filling up. If the new gas I put in mixes up the gas and makes it run better maybe that will give me proof saying it is my tank.
If it is possible it's my injectors I remember running across a website where I send them in they flow test them, clean them, and then flow test again to get them back to optimum specs for less than 100 dollars for 4 injectors. I'm just throwing that out there right now.
I use fuel injector cleaner probably once every 20k miles. Sometimes more sometimes less. But the last time I used it was less than 5k miles ago.
I will fill my tank up and run fuel injector cleaner, I think I remember seeing that techron was good stuff so I'll try that. While I'm at it I'll throw in new spark plugs since it is that time. That'll also allow me to inspect my old plugs and coil packs for abnormalities. I'll go out right now and mess around with the map sensor a little more.

All I currently have is the intake and nothing else.
I had much more, like EMS, wideband +++ but took it all off 20k miles ago. All the wiring is correct after triple checking I went in soldered all the wires and heat shrunk where needed. Then I had two friends double check everything to make sure each wire was connected to the correct place.
So as of right now my car is stock except for the intake correct.
