Wont shift into 2n'd gear?
Hi, I'm Steve and just joined the forum, I just purchased a S2000 that has a gearbox problem, It won't shift into 2nd, but still drives fine in the other gears. I would like to know if this maybe related to the second gear grinding issue/fix that I saw in the common problems thread, and wether it may be a relatively easy fix. Or wether the box would require a rebuild, or if this box I heared was rumoured to be an Aisin 6sp box common to other cars including the Mx5 and S15 that I could possibly? get another box and have fitted? Or where I may get a good original box sourced from at reasonable cost. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I've always wanted an S2000, and although the car has this problem, the price was so good I couldn't say no, because I couldn't see myself affording one any other way, even if this cost me up to 2k to fix, which I hope it doesn't, but expect it might.
Steve.

Before you assume the trans is done, make sure your clutch hydraulics are good. If clutch is not fully disengaging, this will magnify whatever trans issues you have. You may find fixing clutch drag makes your car shift acceptably.
Do these simple, cheap things before swapping trans. You can find detailed diy's on this site.
Turkey baster clutch master cyl, wipe clean, fresh fluid, then gravity bleed at slave, until clean fluid comes out
Adjust clutch pedal height
Adjust clutch pedal rod
Also, change your trans fluid. Use either Honda fluid, or Amsoil. Changing trans fluid will almost always make your car shift better. Many find the service interval specified by Honda doesn't seem adequate for best shift feel.

Great advice Car Analogy, I will try this when I take delivery of the car, I actually remember buying a car at auction with a LSD that was clunking on the drive home and thought the diff was stuffed, and after researching on the net I changed the fluid in the diff and voila, fixed. I believe the owner probably sold the relatively low klm car at auction believing there was a problem. Sometimes you get a good win, I do hope this works, thanks for the info, appreciated ;-)
