Opening day 2019 is March 20, 2019 between the Seattle Mariners and the Oakland Athletics in the Tokyo Dome in Japan. Earliest opening day ever.

 

I am so very fortunate to have been a Boston sports fan since my dad first brought me to Fenway Park in 1950. Over my 74 years the pro sports teams have brought, now, 29 championships to their fan base. That's almost obscene.

 

I was shocked it wasn't Price. Relief in Game 1. Started Game 2. Relief in Game 3. Warmed and ready Game 4 and Started Game 5. What more could a pitcher do to get the MVP?

 

Congrats, Boston. You were the better team.

 

Who did win it, Pearce? I agree Price was a stud.

It's funny how we sometimes focus on the negatives, Harry. All those seasons of the World Series Championship drought and the pathetic Sullivan-era Patriots blinded us to the success of the Celtics and Bruins during that same period. But now, even the most cynical boston sports fan can't find much to complain about. But they still do.

Well, this now sets up Boston fans to wish for that rarest of all events. The perfect alignment of four sports championships. Up next are the Patriots. And now I really have to delve into the Celtics as well.
