Dead Man walking.... Dead Man walking...
yesterday I was in my wife's former office area, now her craft area.
It has built-in shelving on both sides, My head (dry sinus) was hurting and I was humping it on the end of the bookcase/shelves. ( only 3 thumps.)
I apparently shook it enough that the Pin/angle thing holding up the shelf of books slipped and fell.
It landed on one of my wife's paintings.
she was not a happy camper. Now we start the happy adventure of canvas repair. Gash is about 3-4 inches long.
Needless to say I felt like crap.
It's a Miracle.
She did an amazing job fixing it. Even holding the painting in front of me I couldn't find the rework.
I'm pleased to say that my pic of the squirrel peeking out of a hole in the tree spoke to Barbara. I sent her a copy of the photo and I'll be happy to see what she does with it down the line.
Since this the art lover's thread, I thought I would include some pics I took at an Italian National Museum at the Piazza Venezia in Roma. Roman era bronze lamps.
They had quite a sense of humor! The last lamp you can see the trough for the wick.
Different part of Roma, Capuchin monastery. After a couple of hundred years when the corpses have only bones left, the monks disinter the bones so they can re-use the crypt under the church. They artfully stack the bones. Plus as you can see in the ceiling shot, they make a chandelier of sorts with the pelvic bones as electrified lamps. You cannot find this kind of thing at the Home Depot.
