A local land preservation trust, commissioned artists to make sculptures and they have been installed along the preserve on a local River.
I have to admit, there is a lot about art I don't get....but some of these are pretty cool.
Ladders: According to the artist, metaphorically as dream ladders, pick a dream and follow it....
This one was kind of cool...Pie crimper
"A passion for researching and collecting objects that span 17-19th centuries has guided conceptual and aesthetic concerns in this work.
This one symbolizes "the inherent complexity of human relationships and the human experience in general... "The Space in Between."
Sculptured from ployester resin, dirt, grass and mixed media "Green Men"
I think this was kind of cool. The artist says "the underlying source for my work as always been a deep connection to the land, a sense of place....."
Steel and Fiberglass - "the sculpture is a visual response to observations, research and events that have taken place at the reserve."
This was the one that brought us to the reserve. There was a pic in our local paper.
Migation - "Migration alludes, I, hope, to the many layers, suggesting the deep rhythms and cycles of nature.

I do not always comprehend what the artist is trying to say about a lot of pieces I've seen but I love to see it anyway. I particularly enjoy outdoor sculpture where the artist uses "found" objects or simply sculpts simple things from metal or wood. Thanks for sharing, Lainey. Beautiful and peaceful stuff.

The +1 did another oil painting in his class, for his mom. A still life with flowers. It turned out really nice. He already did a forest scene. Everyone in the art class praised the bark on the tree. Very hard to get right. His art teacher is amazed at how quickly he gets the concept of a painting. He is also still working on the mountain painting from the pic above for a wedding present. He has another painting in mind as a present for someone else. I will take pics of all these and post.

Been too busy blowing leaves to paint leaves. Glad someone is painting; I think about it a lot. Maybe when the snow flies.
