Is there a possibility that you might share your portrait from this photo? Also, your +1 has excellent artistic skills.

We were over at my nephew's place today and the adorable girls were doing some painting with the kit we got them. The older one (three) said a couple of times "I'm a *good* painter." I must say she seems to be leaning in the Impressionist direction since she was making a lot of dots.

The longest painting in the world. A panorama of a whaling ship's voyage, painted in 1848, we went to see it today. Pretty impressive.

Michigan has two really big and really good art events. We try to make both of them. The first is the Ann Arbor Art Fair, which runs for a week or so. Every year it is in the middle of July (lots of other things going on) and when we often get some of the hottest weather and some real heavy sudden rainfalls (not good). We did not make Ann Arbor's this year; probably the weather, I don't recall.

The second is Grand Rapids ArtPrize which we hope to attend soon. Artists The time of the year is good for an MG drive there and the weather is generally good. We like both cities but GR better and the BIG $ awards bring in some real talent from all over the country, plus it runs from Sept 12th to Oct 7th (Awards are on the 5th).

Guess I didn't post this one yet...one of the recent ones from the +1. Continuing tradition, it will be our Christmas card this year. Have been doing snow scenes the past few years. People have commented on how much they like the cards.

I'm getting my Christmas card database ready to print. If you want to be added to my Christmas card list, send a PM.
