I have very few temp files -- I delete from the control panel every few days and run a windows maintenance program weekly. My hard drive is still 95% free. Maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks all for taking the time to help a non-geek. My PC is 15% lighter and it still runs!

I have that on a tee shirt, black with white letters. It's XXXL and was sent to me mistakenly - I wear an L.

Can anyone of you geeks out there wear it? It's yours if you can.

My other geek tee (L) reads, "There's noplace like 127.0.0.1."

For starters, go to http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html and download "Spybot Search and Destroy".

Then you should probably get another scanner as well, since studies have shown that no single scanner will fix all problems.

Go to http://www.safer-networking.org/en/links/index.html for some reading material.

I found the best to be Ad-Aware. I have SpyBot as well but no longer use it after comparing the two products. It's free at http://www.lavasoft.de/
