very nice. (see avatar; it is an answer. can u guess the question?)

p.s.-- I do computer networking, and I've been playing with computers since "way back" (for me anyway). my first computer was an Apple IIe, followed by some IBM clone 386... WITH 16-COLOR EGA!! yeah baby!! my first computer "hack" was finding out that by playing with the jumpers in my 486, I could turn it from a 100Mhz snail, to a screamin' fast 166Mhz dynamo.

I'll stop by this thread periodically and help out where I can.

When you enter an appointment in Outlook, don't forget to check off the alarm.

Nothing is ever easy with these computers, at least for me. I checked the alarm and all I got was a written message..... no bells or noise. I know I have a sound card and speakers but how I get a noise alarm escapes me.
Dave

I don't exactly remember, but I will check it tomorrow. I don't remember where to coordinate the sound with the alarm. Perhaps in "Options". I'll let you know tomorrow evening.

Must be nice to be so "young" to enjoy the technology advancements. I remember 16-color CGA with composit color output (and the IBM monochrome, later improved by Hercules with their monochrome graphics adapter). Those were the days. You knew who the real "hackers" (in the good sense) were by what they could do in 64K bytes of memory or less.

Hi Dave

In Outlook, go to Tools, Options, Other tab, click on the Advanced Options button (near upper right), click on the Reminder Options button (near lower left), and make sure the box beside "Play reminder sound" is checked. This is also where you can select the sound to be played, by browsing to the location of the sound you want played (if other than the default).

Click OK, OK, OK to get back to Outlook.

HTH...
I got that far the first time..... but where do you browse to? There was no default.
