I think this is a national problem.
quoting a funny post from the comcast support forum.

and yeah talking to the local support folks is like talking to your dog except the dog doesn't offer stupid things to keep you busy.

Now that's funny.
For those who know email systems, I have a NEW related question:
How do you SAVE an email folder (I have a dozen or more...organizing email on different topics) to another drive?
I am moving pics and other stuff to my FreeAgent external hard drive....and would also like to copy some impt email folders to this drive. I would also like to Save my OE Address Book. I use Outlook Express rather than full Outlook.
So far, I have not found a Save As or Send To command that seems to allow this. I recall that Outlook file names have a .pst ending Any help or suggestion would be appreciated

Have a look here:
http://www.insideoe.com/
I didn't have time to read up on it but I suspect you'll find an answer there.

After wasting
more than an hour (I kept figuring that it HAD to work), I had to call tech support. Guess that I was just lucky in getting a competent
rep.....
ok so I'm only a systems engineer..
But this is on comcast end.
Without changing anything my system starting working fine yesterday afternoon.
It is traffic load related.
Having worked with support people, there is a phrase that is used, " go fetch rocks"
basically, you don't want to tell the customer to go away so you have them go fetch you some rocks i.e. jump through this hoop and that that hoop.
you don't want the rocks your just keeping them busy for a while so they won't sit and stew while your guys are fixing the real problem.
But this is on comcast end.
