Rob, I also felt it a personal attack when it was intimated that I drive a small SUV in order to haul my ego. If anyone has less ego than me, I'd like to me the poor bastard.

Let's agree to disagree, folks. We all have different needs in life. I need to haul lumber, dogs, and a multitude of misc. items as Val described. An S or a Civic or any other such "car" would not be practical for my life. However, I did choose a small SUV with good mpg as my little contribution to saving the world from the deadly greenhouse gases! Some people never need to haul anything, but live in areas that require 4WD. Some people just don't need anything bigger than a Fit. It takes all types to fill up the freeways. (Though I do still think Hummers, Navigators, Escalades and the like are useless because no one is going to actually use them for the purposes intended.)

Let's give peace a chance..............

Martha, Martha, Martha.

You don't need help (for being a serial computer killer), you deserve a medal. Clearly, we need more people like you. HPH
But if I killed them all, I'd have never met wonderful people like you and Claire!

Her secret is to feed them a coffee or Coke whenever possible.

Personally, I think it's far more egotistical to assume that what fulfills your needs MUST be good enough for everyone else, as evidenced by your signature. The Fit driver thinks your Civic is too big, and the Golf TDI driver thinks the Civic AND Fit are too wasteful. So why should YOUR opinion be the final say?
This is coming awfully close to being a personal attack, don't you think?

My opinion, as expressed in my signature, is my opinion. You are free to take it or leave it. It is not, nor should it be construed as anything other than my opinion. Unless of course you need to misconstrue and misrepresent it to make your point. [/QUOTE]
So, uh, wait...you say Martha drives an SUV because she has a big ego and it's okay, but I say you proclaiming to know what's best for her demonstartes your big ego, and it's a personal attack? Come on, man. If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

Why do I have to learn how to cook if I want to make good food?
Cooking is far more intuitive than a PC.

I never said Martha has a big ego, I simply agreed with Bill that the thing you can carry in an SUV is your ego. Of course, if you choose to read into it to in order to attact thats fine too, but I suggest that you go back and read the posts.
