I was wondering if it was the longest thread we ever had in vintage.

My current thoughts:

No, we can't just have everyone stay at home for 12 or 6 or even two more months.
If I'm to believe CNN, to reopen the economy we need 500K tests per day AND we are not going from the current 150K tests per day to 500K tests per day any time soon.
If you think the current problem is bad, wait to see what happens if you keep the economy shut down for another full month!
Unless you know of an untapped source of $8Trillion dollars or so, the economy has to reopen much sooner rather than later.

Sooooo...

Start opening some of the states this week.
Keep NY, NJ and Mass and similar sites closed until mid May.
Oldies and other high risk folks: just stay at home and stay away from everyone else.
"Younger" people with no high risk problems: the door is open, go ahead out. If you live with oldies and high risk folks, find somewhere else to live or stay in. When you are out, wear your masks and practice social distancing.

Tests will increase as they increase. We'll see what happens. In the mean time, we open it up as best we can.

Well...................Patty's "Do you pee in the shower?" went on for many many pages.

Now back to topic.
When the corona virus started, and, as the symptoms were discussed, I decided to buy a pulse oximeter. I seemed a bit silly, but not really. The corona virus is respiratory. If you are having chest tightness it didn't seem like a bad idea to monitor one's O2 level. A conversation with a doctor could let you know if your numbers indicated more trouble on the way. Given that my asthma flares up with a simple cold, it seemed to make even more sense to have one on hand.

Tonight's local news had a brief segment with a doctor who stressed that everyone should have one of these gadgets on hand, just like a thermometer. Waiting to go to the hospital until a patient has shortness of breath may not be advisable. You could already be in trouble. So I'm not feeling too silly. The pulse oximeter is in the linen closet.

Well, my "Show us your pet!" thread has been around for 16 years, though with not as many posts!
