The saga continues. Painter man will be painting a few "swatches" of LIGHTER yellow on the walls, this AM for me to choose from. I'm going to go much lighter with the plan that the final coat could be a tad darker/warmer......

Good thing I'm not obsessing over this.

I would like to reply, but I'm having a hard time getting my mind around a shade of yellow that is too loud. What is that? I'm very confused...

As soon as I saw your name in this thread, as the last poster, I thought OMG SPA yellow! Doug would love it!

I've learned to love a Spa yellow car, not so much a spa yellow guest room.

The exterior of my house is going yellow, almost a Rio shade.

Lainey, I wish I had a picture of Andy's first house in Sylmar, that I moved into before we bought in Acton. We painted the kitchen yellow AND you wouldn't believe the floor we put in. It was a mostly yellow acrylic with a pattern busy enough to make you hurl, even if you hadn't been doing qualudes.

Patty, sounds like you like textured kind of "stuff."
Just that wall, Lainey. The house is still for sale and I'm tempted to go ask the owners what wallpaper it is. I REALLY liked it. My bedroom is huge and could use something like that.

Patty that sounds a lot like some of the "southwestern color" I see on various design shows. It's bright and vivid. It can look great in the right house, but does not go with mine.

I just came back from a quick trip to my house. I think we have a winner. Lemon souffle. Much softer color. Did not make me want to barf at all. One other shade he put on the walls was a bit more creamy but I did not think there would be enough contrast with white woodwork and crown molding.

Maybe the painter will be able to have Christmas dinner with his family after all.
