I did not think there would be enough contrast with white woodwork and crown molding.
Exactly the challenge I had when I was creating the custom color for my house. I wanted a yellow that had some weight to it so it would contrast the white trim, it could not bee too bright and light, and yet it had to be saturated enough so it did not look like all the other light yellow houses, and still needed to not be so overwhelmingly intense that it would lower the homes value. My mother is as much into color as I am, and we had a blast developing the color.

Sounds like you made out well Lainey, congrats, getting a color that is strong enough, but not overwhelming can indeed be a challenge.

We'll know for sure when I put the room back together. Lots going on this weekend with family stuff, so not sure we'll have the time until after Christmas....

I still need to get lamps and other decorative items, but needless to say, I don't want to be shopping right now. It's crazy out there.

Doug, have you painted your house yet??

I think I like it. One more coat tomorrow.

No more re-decorating for a while.

Wow that glosss white trim really shines, not sure if i would like the gloss white. A flat white would be more my taste.

The yellow is a nice shade though.

I think it's a semi gloss and it dulls down quite a bit after it cures or whatever paint does. None of my woodwork is shiny.

I'm sure the flash from the camera just made it look super shiny. That happens with my flash all the time indoors.

Looks good, Lainey. Makes me want some kind of lemon pudding or something.

I think so too, Patty.

It's lemon souffle. I don't even like lemon flavored desserts........ , but I do like lemonade.

Lainey, have you ever had lemon bars? I make some killer good ones. Jerry-west took some to work for a potluck party, today. I had to have him take the whole pan because I can't stop. I just keep taking one more sliver, and one more. Kinda like me and pepperoni pizza.

No, for whatever reason, I don't like lemon drops, lemon desserts, pies, or anything like that. I do like lemon in my diet coke, and the aforementioned lemonade. Weird, eh?

I made some cookies tonight for my painter and his helper...they were very patient with me while I made up my mind about the yellow paint.

I'm going to leave him a note telling him to take ALL of them. I must get them out of the house, or I will keep eating the darn things.
