Okay, now I've put a few hundred miles on my little Strawberry Valentine and have a few more observations. WOW what a change from the 01. There is more comfort in the ride, but as far as the drive itself is concerned, it feels almost the same. I do find that I'm driving more in higher gears and don't tach it out as much between shifts. The shifting is as smooth as glass and you can just snick through the gears a little more smoothly than the old one. I foolishly thought I'd be able to feel something different regarding the dbw, but nahhh -- feels the same. There is a wonderful smoothness about the ride/drive/feel that I enjoy a great deal. I do amuse myself everytime I get in the car wondering if I turn off the VSA, will anyone we know and love notice???? hmmmmm?? I giggle everytime I get in the car and see a button that says VSA. From what I've read it may save my hide some day, so I'm glad its there. Eventually being the geek that I am, I'll have to turn it off to see if I notice, but since its never come to play so far, I probably won't since I can't tell its there anyway. I do like the look of the oval tailpipes and reallllllly like the fact that I no longer have that black strip at the bottom of the rear. That strip is now the same color as the rest of the car. I like the look of the front lip and it appears that the opening in the front is not quite as prominent as the 01 and has fewer louvers (easier to clean). The temperature gauge is a neat little feature and having the clock right in front is nice too. Well, that's about all I can think of so far other than I'm totally loving it. I LOVE the rear and front light configuration and think they are gorgeous. It is really RED and whenever I'm driving it and seeing all that red in front of me I feel like I've got realllllly red lipstick smeared all over my face.

I guess that this means that you will be attending more meets that are further away, as it seems more comfortable?

^^ I read that thread before I bought the 06 and found the info quite interesting. My insurance agents tells me that he recently read an article saying that cars equipped with VSA are involved in major accidents 60% less than others. I've wondered if some of the accidents some of our members have had would have been either prevented or lessened in severity if VSA had come to play, but of course, there's no way to know. The more I drive it, the better I'm appreciating it. As an aside, when I checked on my insurance rates, the increase was $200 per year. I had expected the rates to be higher. I just filled the gas tank yesterday and my mpg checked out at 26 for combined highway and city driving, which is just about the same as my old one, but I'm not driving this one as hard. +1 took her out last night and is more and more impressed every time he drives it. I'm still in love .

^ I still have half a tank left, but I've managed to put 140 miles on it so far with just local driving. A few more on tonight, when we go out to Wolftrap to see Gordon Lightfoot - if we survive. High today 102!!

Well, I haven't really been anywhere yet. But give it a couple more weeks.
Well, I am responsible for at least 20 more miles. And the ride out to Annandale was good therapy for S2000 withdrawal.

Deb, I really enjoyed meeting you and Vito. The dinner at the Village Bistro was excellent. I will definitely dine there again the next time I am in DC.

^ Yes, it was fun. And any excuse to put more miles on. I'm up to 155. Val is already over 600!

Deb, why don't you like your car? By my figuring you've had it for 25 days now and have only driven 155 miles, maybe less as there was probably a couple on it when you bought it July 9, that's only 6 miles a day!

It's not a daily driver (I commute to work on the subway) and I haven't had many reasons to drive it in the evenings lately. It's been very hot here (100 the past couple of days), which discourages top down, and moving in general. Really miserable.
