Right now, I'm just glad I didn't experience any hysteria at the doc's office today, and get quarantined as I have a case of pink eye.
Is your camera pink?

Question about those haz-mat suits they all wear. After use are they thrown away, or somehow cleaned up to be used again?

Just like you don't toss around the word "bomb" in an airport on on a plane, you don't toss around the word "Ebola".

Did you hear about the idiot who supposedly sneezed and said he had Ebola on a flight from Philly to the Dominican?

I don't fear Ebola too much at this time, but I do fear idiots like this guy.

Suits or cover-ups that are made of Tyvek are usually intended to be a one time use. Items that are not intended to be disposable (for instance hard plastic face masks/shields) can be disinfected. Bleach is commonly used to disinfect although it's not the only possible disinfectant.

Many moons ago I worked for a firm that manufactured medical products (tubing, bags, infusion devices, etc). When they had the occasional failed product in the field, it was sent back for evaluation. Guess who got to suit up, open the packages, and prepare them to be reviewed by engineering. Bleach solutions became my best friend. That and meticulous handling of all objects with the assumption that anything I was about to touch might stick me!

Some further reading on disinfection specific to ebola... http://www.who.int/csr/resources/pub...r982sec5-6.pdf

Based on the second case in the Texas hospital, it seems the Aids analogy is not really on point.

I suspect that ebola will become more of a problem in the southeast areas of the world.
India, Cambodia etc. areas with a very high population density yet relatively poor hygienic conditions.

Going on vacation to the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) in January. Should I be worried?
