Eyeglasses
After suffering through the worst pair of eyeglasses I have ever owned from BJ's wholesale what recommendations would you suggest for a quality pair of glasses without paying ridiculous prices from an optometrist.
I had luck with Pearle Vision for my first two pairs of glasses progressive, no glare lenses. On the third I tried Lens Crafters, not sure if the prescription was off or what but I returned them, and went back to the optometrist. He did adjust the script and I bought them there. I did have some insurance discounts, and it wasn't that much more expensive than Pearle Vision.
Check out Pearle. Sometimes and AARP or AAA card can get you 30% off.
Others order their glasses on line. I've never even tried.

I believe they are about half the price as optometrists. I've been very happy for decades with their glasses. I've got transition lenses with progressive focus, purely distance polarized sunglasses and some clear lenses at a good focus for computer work.

Locally, I got my last pair from Boscov's.
goblueS2K recently got his prescription eyeglasses at CostCo and was very happy. However, he mostly just wears his glasses as a backup because he usually wears contacts.
This was our first purchase of eyeglasses at CostCo, because goblue's Vision Service Plan added CostCo as an in-network provider for eyeglasses this past year.
I will likely order a pair of eyeglasses from CostCo, too, before the end of the year.
In the past we have always gotten our eyeglasses at the optical service connected with our ophthalmologist's office. However, I think the price at CostCo is much less than at that optical service since now CostCo is in-network with our insurance.
I have never been unhappy with any eyeglasses that I have ever gotten.
Just curious, S2KRAY, what was the problem with your glasses?
