Default Fake or Real?

Christmas Trees!

I was a die hard "Real" for years until that 80% off sale at Target years ago. For $25.00 I got a gorgeous "Fake" tree that keeps coming back like the EverReady Bunny. Even have one of those spinning bases so you can see all the decorations.

I spray a bit of Pine extract oil on it and voila!

No needles, No dry out worries, and cost about $5.00 averaged over the years.

How do you folks decorate your tree? Mine changes yearly, alter lighting and ornaments.

Fake is good. All my plants are fake. Around here people tend to decorate not only their trees but also their hi-rise balcony railings so you get the effect of actually living inside a giant Christmas tree for about a month

A few years ago we bought a fake tree and have used it since. We didn't like the idea of cutting down a living tree.

One of the traditions that we established when we bought the fake tree was that every April we go out and buy a living evergreen of some sort (pine, spruce, hemlock etc) and plant it in our yard. We now have quite a few substantial "Christmas" trees growing in our yard. We like it like that.

Real for me. A family friend grows thousands of them on his land. A tree farm is an interesting place. You see trees in all stages from itty bitty to 15 foot beauties. Just row after row of them. There's a surprising amount of work that goes into them.

FWIW, most of the people who grow and sell trees are fanatical about replanting and keeping the land in excellent shape. I have no compunction about getting a tree from our friend. When Christmas is over, trees around here are collected and chipped up for some other use. Just put them on the curb.

Christmas Trees!

Here I thought this HAD TO BE a Pamela Anderson thread. Sorry for not being able to get my mind out of the gutter.
