Default Flip side of a bad day

To "even things out" a bit (after my bad day rant): You all may remember that a tree limb fell and crush a portion of my SUV a couple/months ago and I had to have extensive repair done. It looks great and up until our recent monsoons had been great. I got up early the other morning and noticed the dome light was on in my SUV. A few seconds later it went out. I thought +1 was using the electronic door opener from inside the house to play a little game with me so I came back in the house -- no. He was sound asleep. SOOOO I went out and opened the door to find that the side window that had been replaced was soaked as was the carpet and the wire harness that apparently included wires to the dome light. I called the repair shop and took it back in this morning. They have repaired it, shampooed and dried the carpet ANNNNNNND -- because they felt badly about the repair not being done properly made me an offer: When I bring it back in to the shop in November for its annual state inspection, they will completely detail, wax, polish, clean the upholstery, etc. for free. I'm impressed. No one reallllllly cares about customer service anymore. This is fantastic. As an aside, because we have five vehicles and always take them to this shop for service, etc., every job they do for me is discounted. My hat's off to customer care.

That reminds me. My S is due an inspection. Got 2 more days.

In Texas a new car's inspection is good for 2 years then the car has to be inspection annually after that.

to Val's auto shop. Good customer service is hard to come by these days.

I was so overwhelmed when the manager told me what the shop plans to do for me I almost . I've gotten totally with the total disregard most businesses have for me after they've gobbled up my $$$ that this just made my day. I guess it restores my faith in this business and makes me think that if I just keep shopping around for EVERYTHING I can find more people who care about their patrons. [Somehow I do not think I'll be able to add Wal-Mart, CVS or any other big box chain store to that list]
