at 608 am this morning while travelling east on hockley rd three deer thought it would be a great idea to play chicken with me . two deer survived one wasnt so lucky. for those of you that have not bumped into a deer at speed let me tell you this is not the start of a great day. Damage to my acura el consists of hood (think of crumpled aluminium foil.passenger side light assembly, front passenger quarter panel hoof prin and the the hoof put a mother of a dent in the passenger door at the handle. The good part of the story is no one was injured. At this point of my day bambis demise doe not count. thanx for letting me vent

yes deer do quite a bit more damage than one would imagine. On the other hand, Moose kill truck drivers so consider yourself lucky you didn't hit one of those suckers.

the funny thing is that right now there is a "3d action hunting deer shooting PC game" advertisement at the bottom of the screen.

hit refresh a couple of times if you don't see it

Sorry to here about you hitting a deer, it sucks!

Guy hit a deer right in front of me Thursday morning, about 7:45am doing about 50mph. It was more like the deer ran into him, got him just at the front wheel well and the driver's door. I had to maneuver quickly to avoid hitting the deer on the road in my lane and miss him at the same time. I was just about to pass him when all this happened. Talk about lucky!

Yea, deers are no fun. I hit one in Ottawa on my motorcycle a couple years ago doing about 60 or 70. Had to rebuild pretty much the whole front-end and tail (the bike flipped).

Trust me, when ya live where I do, it is just a part of life. The last deer I hot was in the Titan, and let me just say, I was moving right along when it jumped out of the woods. The impact was partially him running into the side of me, and me running into his side.

Initial point of contact, yes, The Big Red beast took a bite right out of his hide

The entire front bumper was moved to the right

Impact on left was so severe it even shifter the right side fender

But after the front impact the deer spun around and hit the rear

The pictures do not show the damage to the box very well, but the impact was huge

A mere $4,500 later and it looks good as new...

Sorry it had to happen to you, I know it is a real pain in the next dealing with insurance companies and body shops and all the other crap. Good luck.

sorry to hear, glad to hear you're ok.

on the bright side is that you'll have enough venison for dinner to last you a month or so?
