Yeah, right.

How cold is “your” cold?

I made some navy bean soup today using the ham bone from our Christmas dinner.

Um, not as cold as your cold, if your cold is about the same as Rob's cold in Ontario (OH, not CA). 28 at the moment, vs 39 here.

I love a beef stew, I just took out some stewing beef we had in our freezer for this week to do a nice stew.

Oh, navy bean soup is good too, that sounds great. I have a craving for pea soup too, I need to put the navy bean and pea soup on my list of dishes to make soon.

I hope you have some heating source to spread around some heat during these cold events in your region.

Yes, about the same as Rob’s. About 29 here right now. Compared to the last week or so, though, 29 is very warm for here!

You know, of course, that I am just giving you a hard time.

I am sure that you had plenty of very cold temperatures when you were in Upstate New York!

Enough to last me a lifetime.

So, Joey and Sue, do you cook your navy beans with ham? What spices do you use, if I may ask.

I made ham bone vegetable soup yesterday in my crockpot. It was surprisingly good.

I've never made it the traditional way, but I want to next, using ham, most recipes don't have much seasoning that I've seen other than bay leaves and pepper, I'm always up to suggestions though.

In our household we always made it with Italian sausage and Italian herbs/seasoning, and a bay leaf, sometimes a bit of small pasta tubes.
