Here's a Goat Cheese trick. Put the goat cheese in the freezer fo 25 minutes. Then slice off around a half inch or a little less. Dip them in egg wash sprinkle on your favorite seasoning, veggie or anything else.
Then fry it. Won't take long. Here's one served on a bed of hash browns, Canadian bacon, and eggs. Also works on everything from a burger to a steak and a million other ways.

What, if there is one, is a comparable tasting cheese to goat cheese?

Rob, goat cheese is very unique, strong flavour than cream cheese, different than Feta but along those lines. I like it, it has a sharp pungent bite to it.

Grant that recipe looks good, despite me being Canadian I don't care for Canadian bacon much, I will eat it but regular bacon or ham is just fine.

We went out tonight with the thought of an inexpensive dinner. Somehow 2 pieces of cod and potatoes each (no salad or bread) turned into a $72 meal with a tip. If I knew I was going to spend that much I would have went to a better place. So much for a small town dive bar. Worst part, I was still hungry when we got home so I ate a bowl of shelled peanuts.

Dave that strikes me as being a bit pricey for Michigan. My wife and I always marveled how cheap it was when we ate at Michigan restaurants. The portions were always bigger than what you get in Canada and less expensive. That was a few years back, we would often hang out around Birch Run, Frankenmuth, Saugatuck, and South Haven when we travelled and ate in Michigan, always a good experience.

I'm starting to see a lot of news reports about shrinkflation happening now, where companies increase prices and cut back portions. We have noticed it for a while now but news media is catching onto it and calling places out in our region now.

Joey, that was our surprise. Higher prices and smaller portions. It had been a while since we'd stop at this one and it will be a while before we go back. I talked to the owner who said she bought it a year ago; well, good luck. It had some minor upgrade in appearance and it looked like she was running her butt off. Thankfully, there still are lots of places that give you more for less around our area. Three of us are taking our MGs for a tour of the thumb next week starting in Frankenmuth, a city we always love.

We went out to celebrate our 51st anniversary with another couple. The tab was 480 dollars without the tip. Food prices are on the rise here too.
Food banks are almost overwhelmed with the increased requests from the charities they work with.

Thankfully we don't have Naples prices here. $120/person is out of my price range.
