I went to Radio Shack and bought a splitter so I can plug in my GPS and my radar detector into the one socket. $10.
I have two of those splitters. One is rigid and the other has flexible sockets. I don't leave home without them and I can plug everything in when I need to do so.

I got a Nuvi 660 at $750. It is cupped to my windshield near dash below the rearview mirror. I like the fm feature so I can hear directions on my speakers, answer my bluetooth phone, make calls, etc. I like the larger 4.3inch screen.
The actual street name anouncements rock so there is no mistake as to where you are.
When we first got it we played with it by not following its instructions and constantly taking wrong turns, it recalculated the route quickly each time. It is amazing that it can find itself within 12 feet!!!!!!
We were out driving around one time and decided to go to dinner, we looked up the resturant, and it plotted a course from where we were right to the place.
Connie said that this is the best electronic toy I have ever bought. Comming from her that is huge.

Diane, Check out this place: GPS ONLINE

They've got the bluetooth Nuvi 660 for $709.99 (today's price). You may find a good buy. When I bought my StreetPilot, they had the lowest prices for the same equipment that I could find online (I paid about $690.00 for mine a year or so ago). I see that now it is only $299.99 . Oh, well, it has served me well and I still love it.

SSSsnakeSSS,

When I tune the Nuvi660 to my FM radio, I have to choose between listening to the Nuvi instructions or listening to a radio station on a different frequency. Do you know if there is a way to listen simulataneously to a radio station and the Nuvi instructions via the car's speaker system?

We have been looking at the Garmin 660 - expensive! However, it does seem to be the one to get. Large screen, good North American maps, blue tooth - use with phone so that you are alerted with road delays etc. We have decided to delay the purchase until next spring when we start travelling around this beautiful country again.
+1 wants a small, waterproof GPS for use when kayaking. Which one do you use RC? Which one would you recommend?

Thanks for the link dahling.

I'm thinking I'll go for the Nuvi 660 based on the price and the features - even though I may not need all of them. I like the screen size primarily. The other choice would be the Street Pilot 2720.

Anybody got any input?

All right - I'm going next door for dinner and unless you want a barrage of PMs there better be some input when I get back.

I think Ralper has a similar model to the 2720. Maybe you should send him a pm. His is a 2620 and he's had it for a while. Mine is the Street Pilot c330 and doesn't offer all the features of the more sophisticated models. When I was looking for a simple little unit, the company I linked about had the best prices I could find at the time. From what I see, their prices are still very good.

I think I'll pick up the Garmin 660 after Christmas. My guess is the price will drop alot.

Pricies are dropping pretty fast. I had bought the c330 for my son in November and paid $365. The price at the same place is now down to $310. They just gave me a credit for the difference. I've also been watching the 660 and it also has dropped in the past few weeks.
