Ha ha, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
I'm thinking about upgrading from my old N"uvi 355 to the 1450T. The Garmin is almost as important for me as the, uh, Valentine V2, -- almost.

I have two Garmin 1450Ts in my car right now. The one I posted about earlier in this thread, decided to turn itself off, twice, on my trip to PA. The first time I was in Ohio. The second time I was within 30 miles of the Cranberry Marriott. Unacceptable. Reviews on Costco.com of 1450t. I went on Costco.com and read that this is not uncommon. The unit has been reported to turn itself off, by other people. But it works great when it works. And Costco never gives you grief for returns. I have the receipt at home, so I decided to return it when I get home, and while my tires were being installed at the Cranberry Costco, I went inside and bought a new 1450t. I hope it lasts for at least another 6 months, before it starts turning itself off, as my first one did.
I noticed that Costco.com now says they have sold out of the Garmin 1450Ts. I wonder if they really did, or if they quit selling them because people are returning them.

Oops. ^I was wrong. I don't have the 1450T. I have the 1390T (?) I think.
I forgot the number again. I filled the tank in my S for my drive from Falcon, Colorado to Cedar City, Utah, tomorrow, and saw that I was wrong about which GPS I have.

I had a friend try to use her GPS to direct her to Stehekin, WA. It knew where Stehekin was, and it directed her to some roads that went out that direction.
Unfortunately, neither she nor her GPS knew that even though Stehekin does have roads and cars, and is not on an island, it is only accessible by boat (or hiking trail).
So the GPS was sending her down some logging roads that were never going to get her there. But she figured out something was wrong, gave up, and turned around. She didn't find out until later that it's not possible to drive to Stehekin.
