My wife got me the Lego titanic for my birthday last month. I haven’t opened it as of yet as I’m not sure exactly where I would put it since it’s quite massive.

I also got the Taj Mahal, I built that one as it was much easier.

I originally thought I make this one too. Now that I've learned that the white marbled glass is a PITA to cut, IF I make this one for him, I'll use a solid white glass. I don't really like orange so this may not happen. I have enjoyed the Seahawks project because I love the blue glass and the blue/green marbled one.

oooh, the Titanic. It intrigues me, but also, where to display. The cars I finished are all no more than 2" by 1" and fit on shelves.
That's the small Taj Mahal model. There's one with 3x the pieces (near 6K IIRC).
Cindy still hasn't started her Harry Potter model. Similar- where to put it. I have a sense doing some cleanup and redesign of our home office is on the forefront. Get rid of textbooks, reference manuals and the bookshelves for something deeper and more display oriented.

Hey, Gary, how about some more pics of your assembled collection.

Traditionally, both Rob and AJ get lego sets for Christmas. That tradition dates back some 30 years so they have acquired quite a collection.

Rob has the Eiffel Tower (10181, the big one at 42"), probably his most ambitious kit. AJ got the ISS kit for this past Christmas to go with his big Saturn 5 and his Space Shuttle kits. Both have many other sets including a lot of cars, space stuff, and architecture.

Yep, where to display (and build) is exactly why it's still in the box unopened.

I didn't realize there is a bigger Taj Mahal, I think I'll stick with the small one as I'm running out of Lego storage space

I'm thinking of getting the Saturn 5 transporter/launch pad. It is out of production and so damn expensive of Flea-Bay.

Scoots, there was never an official Lego one. The original kit using Lego parts is a combination of a few Lego sets with the parts pulled from those https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-600...awler/#details

Avoid the knock-off kits off ebay/amazon as they use 3d printed parts and don't work well, and the instructions are garbage. If you want to build it properly, best to follow the steps in the link above as it uses proper Lego bricks and the instructions are far better even though not an official 'Lego' build.

^2-3-2022. I finished foiling the pieces last night.

2-4-2022. I'm getting the initial soldering on both sides done tonight. Tomorrow I'll make the solder seems prettier.

I ordered a custom made frame for it but I made a mistake on the size of the groove where the glass fits. That meant I needed to go buy zinc to put on the outside edges so the project will fit snugly in the frame groove. I'm staining the wood frame but so far, the first coat is way too light. I hope it darkens up a lot when I put on a second coat. I really need to finish it all tomorrow.

^I've got the frame pieces on a ladder where the garage heater blows out. Dry!

^Very little difference between the stained and instained pieces.

He should love it, no matter the frame stain.
