I must decline a recommendation. I haven't been there. Before I open my mouth, despite evidence to contrary, I like to have at least some vague idea of what I'm talking about.
Our golf trip out to Wisconsin was basically like that every day for a week.
The difference being is it was all bundled up into one big package and another small package so we couldn't see them broken out.
I don't regret a penny of it. It was a once in a lifetime trip. Here we are 8 years later and I know I've never physically be able to do it again.
I don't know if I'll be able to walk 80 miles this year never mind in one week.
I think it was a hypothetical question Jerry. There is only one answer and you're story about Wisconsin agrees.
There's no reward for having it later. Enjoy it while you can.
FYI: The Old White is where the PGA used to play the Greenbrier Classic until a few years ago. There's other courses on property, but with only one round on the schedule, its the Old White.
You should have turned on the whimsical/sarcasm font!
I love golf but I don't know how much longer i'll be able to play.
My muscles joint pain has returned.
Probably my own fault for screwing up my sleep patterns.
My guess is I'm out of condition.
But it a vicious hole to get out of. Exercise, working out hurts, a lot,
How did doctors come to the conclusion that exercise prolongs life, when…the rabbit is always jumping but only lives for around two years, and…the turtle that doesn’t exercise at all lives over 200 years. So, rest, chill, eat, drink, and enjoy life!
I have only played ball golf a handful of times and was properly bad at it But it was fun. We (wife and I ) play disc golf very regularly and hope to be doing that for many years to come. It would be fun to get her to a driving range as she has never tried ball golf. may be something we could both also do... but I would not be a good teacher lol .
Golf is an interesting game but like baseball or skiing.
If you didn't play at all growing up, and someone handed you a bat and said go hit that 90 MPH fastball you would probably not do very well.
If someone strapped boards on your feet and pointed you down the double black diamond hill, it likely wouldn't end well either.
A proper introduction changes the experience entirely.
Personally I love the game for the intellectual stimulation.
One has to be aware of all of the conditions around them.
So many little factors can change the game, the slope at your feet, the direction of the breeze, the temperature and so forth.
Not to mention all of the risk reward trade-offs.
Was supposed to play a super exclusive course today. With the weather in the low 60s, rain in the AM and clouds all day, we chose to postpone it. But, where I work is open for staff on mondays, So I went out with a friend at 2. He’s a 1.5 handicap, I’m a 13.1. He shot a 75, I shot a … drumroll….. 78!!! Lowest stroke count for me. Tied with score to par. It’s a par 70, and I’ve shot 80 a few times on par 72s. My only other round in the 70s was a 79 on a par 70.
Let’s see if I can keep it up or if I’ll regress back into the mid 80s. I’m playing two private courses next week.
